With a diverse array of backgrounds in financial services, our team is made up of creatives from tech experts to graphic designers to events planners and digital strategists. But we all have one thing in common: a shared commitment to delivering exceptional results and ensuring the success of our clients through innovative, forward-thinking solutions. To celebrate our team on National Careers Week, we asked them to reflect on their brandformula careers so far, and share the experiences that have shaped their journey…
Jake Ranson, Senior Digital Marketing Executive, 7 years at brandformula
I joined brandformula back in 2018, coming off the back of an in-house marketing role that had taught me a lot, but also left me yearning to be back in an agency. Joining the team with a good amount of B2C experience but very little in terms of B2B was pretty interesting, it allowed me to transfer my existing knowledge of content writing, organic and paid social and apply it to new markets and platforms. Since then, I’ve probably become more adept now at LinkedIn and LinkedIn ads than I ever was with Facebook and Twitter (back in the day). I’ve also learned a lot from my managers here and it’s been nice having the opportunity to teach and guide more junior members of the team.
Craig Freeman, Chief Growth Officer, 16 years at brandformula
This year marks my third anniversary of being on the board of WHJE Ltd, which makes it 16 years with the business I joined on work experience and never left! I’m forever grateful for those that saw something in the overly excitable, easily distracted, loud twentysomething. Now as I inch ever closer to my 40s I’m still learning, still discovering new things, still enjoying the often manic pace of agency life and striving to be everything everyone needs me to be. Being on the board has changed what I thought I knew about business. I’ve got more respect, more understanding and more time for those brave enough to launch something, to employ people and to try to make a difference to people’s lives and livelihoods.
India George, Digital Marketing Assistant, 6 months at brandformula
As I approach the six month mark of my brandformula career, now feels as good a time as any to reflect on my journey so far. Having done two summer internships with brandformula while I was at uni, I was pleased to be offered a full time position when I graduated. I had already developed relationships with some of my colleagues before I officially joined, but I’m pleased to have strengthened these and made new ones since being hired. I’ve also had the opportunity to dive into a variety of projects over the last 6 months, refining my skills and understanding of both the insurance and marketing industries along the way. I’m excited to continue my career here at brandformula, and I look forward to learning from my colleagues, taking on new challenges, and contributing to the innovative campaigns that drive the company’s success.
Owen Moralee, Creative Director, 14 years at brandformula
Reflecting on my journey at brandformula, some of my proudest moments include my first day, filled with excitement, possibility, and expectation, and becoming Creative Director. As for the improvements I've brought, it's a bit of a cliché, but I believe that the collective efforts of the team and business as a whole drive growth, and every individual plays a part. Our integrated way of working ensures that we collaborate closely with all our fantastic teams, continuously challenging and improving each other. One of the most noticeable changes at brandformula has been our growth – we've gone from a small group to a thriving family of over 50! In terms of personal growth, I've learned that communication is key, and good leadership is incredibly challenging. Finding my own leadership style and integrating that with the wider business has been a delicate balancing act. My time at brandformula has shaped my career trajectory in ways I never expected. I’ve been fortunate to find a place where I genuinely enjoy working, and where the team constantly pushes individuals to try new things and test their skills for continual improvement. Starting as a midweight designer and now being Creative Director is a testament to that growth. Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s to come. There is always more to do, and with bigger and higher goals on the horizon, there are truly exciting times ahead!
Georgia Terry, Senior Digital Marketing Executive, 4 years at brandformula
This is my fourth year at brandformula and it's true what they say, time flies when you're having fun! Looking back on my progress from when I started to now, it's nice to see how much my knowledge of marketing has grown and how my skills have developed, but also becoming more confident and creating friendships within the office. One main thing that stands out in my career at brandformula is being part of the Social Committee and bringing the team closer together by having more bonding sessions, whether it's over a quiz or a dinner! I'm looking forward to what the next year will bring.
